PCB Photoresist Searching in India

Status
Not open for further replies.
Hi everybody,
I feel like being cheated after depositing Rs800 INR in the bank account of Idea factory guy.
I was looking for a photoresist sample quantity and stumbled upon this thread and contacted Wadhava (ideafactory contact).
Please see below the email conversations.
Till this date i.e almost 1 month from payment they did not deliver me the said product and It seems I have been compromised by bunch of online thieves looking out for easy money .
Yesterday I sent one more mail and there was not Reply yet.

So I would suggest to everybody- be cautious for the online purchase.

dear sir,
what is the name of sensitizer?

Re: positive resist pcb

yes, i too have the same issue, when i wash it under running water everything comes off.
i got sensitizer in a transparent bottle with no label on it, its orange in color. i think its potassium dichromate, but i am not sure.

Perhaps persons who succeeded like SHIVENI can make a small paper on the procedure to help others. hope shiveni would listen to this call.

In case of pre sensitized copper clad sold else where, after exposure thy wash it under sodium carbonate solution. later under pure water.
they may also use a coloring agent to closely watch any possible breakson the tracks etc.

Yes, there have been lots of replies, but no one has answered the question whether a dichromate (aka bichromate)-based photoresist can be made sufficiently durable to stand up to etching.

There is a group on Yahoo that recently discussed this question. Again, lots of ideas, but no definitive answers. The Group is Homebrew_PCB's (**broken link removed**). You may want to review that whole thread, as it is not that long.

I personally use pre-sensitized, positive-resist boards. But, the chemistry of the much older (nineteenth century) silk screen resists interests me as something that would easy and relatively cheap, if it could be made applicable to a bare copper board. Of course, you can silkscreen the PCB pattern using almost any solvent-based paint onto the board. So, you would start with a positive image, make a silk screen pattern, say with dichromate/gelatin or egg white or PVA, wash away un-exposed areas, then silk screen the pattern onto the PCB . But, that is not what is being talked about in the thread.

The above link gives some ideas for making the dichromate-gel pattern on a bare copper board more waterproof. I would add that one might consider treating the PVA-dichromate pattern on the copper-clad board with an additional cross-linking agent (e.g., formaldehyde) to make it less water soluble. Additional agents are used to modify PVA adhesives that are water resistant and waterproof (e.g., Titebond II and Titebond III).

Sorry for such a late reply. I have received the photo-resist from Idea factory. it took some days for delivery due to some industrial regulations rule consideration in postal service .
cheers

I wonder What was the scary part in it. care to elaborate.
The hazardous chemical part was as explained by Idea factory personnel after couple of mails I sent him for delay in delivery.

i hold back, not being a chemisty expert. and would like to kow that part as to what it is hazardous really !!
thanks in advance.

more than all these
i hope to see your pcb making using this paste.
if you can make detailed paper and let me see i can take say 50 Gr of it from from you. i actiually look forward for a spary like positv20 from uk. it was really on the farnell listing and it would make any ones life easy

some one in Delhi was seeling these cans for use in jewlary and other design etchings, and i gave a link of one such in this very topic.

We all know Our governement officers, they make a fuss about simple things and regarding big things they pretend to sleep.

Looking at those small container they might have thought it for pottasium cynaide or LSD's being transported - what else.

And those pcb's I am yet to make ,due to some unexpected urgency, I had to postpone my plans.

Some of us do enjoy chemistry. Unfortunately, I have no idea what was ordered. Maybe a good starting point would be for Audiospecialist to tell us? Did the material come with an MSDS? Can you link to it?

No I did not get the MSDS details, nor even instruction manual which was promised .

the stuff I got was packed in 6x6x6 inch carton when i opened it contained two white containers 50ml approx one have blue stuff and the other is yellow . now I have no idea which is what (thanks for being utter noob).I have to start over it again .hope fully by the time I learn it the expiry period will be over ,6 months if I am not wrong.

Your portion of this thread began with claims by you that effectively you had been ripped off. Perhaps, it would have been better to start a new thread? It then evolved to a discussion of various photoresists, and finally to the purported reason for the delay.

If you are happy with what you got, I am glad.

Good luck.

John ,
No offence meant here.I missed couple of previous thread so I got confused .it has been very long since I had read it.

especially Mr.Sarma's where he said about air fly not approved.

My sincere apologies.

In fact I am not so happy with product in hand as when I had plans to do it ,it took 6 weeks to arrive (a huge delay for domestic mail),now I am with some other engagements and cannot get myself involve with the pcb making at present.
I regret to note that those photo-resist will go wasted as I wont be able to make use of it in near future whereby its dates would expire.

Thank you.
