Hi! I am a newbie here and just downloaded the moving message display zip file. I am currently looking for ways to set up a moving message display with 10 pcs. 4 x 7 LED matrices. Is it possible to expand the 4 matrix moving message display circuit to 10?
I am rojo, one of the first guys to post messages in this thread/topic
few years ago ), (see the first page ), you can see there my moving message display, controlled by atmel uC, and a PC AT keyboard connected directly to uC,
all controlled by software written in C,
it`s very interesting to see how this thread evolved, lots of people actually contacted me
, and during this time, some of them actually rebuilt my display following my
schematics and instructions, some incorporated my keyboard part of the project
into their own.
Now i`m thinking of expanding the project, possibly building display with
two rows, controlled directly by PC keyboard, maybe usb version ,
and after that maybe even with wirelles keyboard . and with pc software
for downloading messages into display,
i.e. building something that could actually be sold for real money )
anybody interested in some sort of cooperation (software, hardware development or providing me with cheap bright LEDa, as I dont have much time
for fun these days, would be more than welcome.
or in general any questions regarding my original display would be more than welcome
These are a beginner's first attempts, step by step.
I used the ELEKTOR's article (from 2001) as a starting point.
These are working in Proteus ISIS, so for the real-time simulation I made
many circuit simplifications (no row drivers, nor current limiting resistors..).
However, my friends builded the circuits yet (with my help) and all are working
as well.
All folders in the attached zip contain a working DSN file for ISIS, all sources
and the compiled HEX file too. There are also a screenshot ...

Hi all Dear Experts.
I am constant browser of this thread for updates.
Have look at attached files. !! award winning design.!!
but i think it is limited to fixed modules of matrix. is it possible to expand this desing to say 20 to 30 modules of dotmatrix.
