i have big project for making big moving sign, about 250 x 15 cm and thats is color display ( 3 color ) what led i must use for it. and with what controller???

Suppose that you want to use windows system fonts in your moving-message display, is there any software to create codes of windows fonts for us?

I can create them but it will take a long time.

I need help how to use 74HC595 shift register instead 74HC164?

Originaly is used HC164,
DS1 and DS2 (pins 1 and 2) => Data In
/CLR (pin 9) => CLR
CLK (pin 8 ) => CLK

How to connect HC595 here?

Hi every one,im working on a LED digital sign board that has around 25 characters ,can anyone help me with programming?its a moving message display on 10*16 dotmatrix using AT89c51 or AT89c2051in assemply.message moves to right .

I want the PCB diagrams for the moving LED display that appeared on the Silicon Chip Magazine in Feb 1997.

And, i have one more doubt in that- why did they left the 8th bit of the printer port, which is the pin 9 on LPT port. If they have used that, the character would be having more height or it could be used for commas(,)....
