please ,can any one tell me which tools is recommended for analog/mixed design( including simulation ,layout creation and design verification):mentor tools or cadence tools in linux environment?and why?
Hi.
All tools have their own pro's and cons...
Cadence spectre is much preferred than mentors eldo in simulation.
Cadence virtuoso layout editor is again preferred than mentors icstation for physical layout.
Hi,
For Analog mixed signal tasks cadence tool are preferred.
For simulation of analog designs then go for viewlogic or spectre(cadence).
For analog layout you can go for cadence ( cost ) or laker (cheap and faster than cadence).
For the learning purpose you can go for magic ( free tool ).
For Analog or digital verification go for calibre ( Mentor graphics ).
For the abstract generator go for cadence.
For the P&R application go for the cadence ( Encounter ).
I think this info will helps u lot.
Thanks & Regards,
shiva.
Cadence analog artisst is more wide spread. However, Mentor's eldo is a very robust simulator. It is not true that there are no models for it. There are, of course. Mentor's schematic capture sucks, for what I know. But eldo can be integrated in cadence analog artist and one can use cadence schematic capture for drawing and netlisting.
