Not so well, too much voltage drop. Better use a MOSFET H-bridge. There are integrated low voltage H-bridges available.

by seeing above images you posted,

There isnt any component wich can drop the voltage..??

are you talking about wich voltage drop..??

I am considering 5v instead of 12 volt supply at collector..

please help will it work for 5v coz i want to reduce the transformer by removing 12 volt regulator stage n want to make it with only 5 v...

i have seen also a h-bridge driver bot costwise it is expensive

The original post was related to a relay with 12V/400 ohm coil. As shown the circuit won't be able to drive a 16 ohm coil and it can't be easily modfied to do so.
