personally, I don't think this is very good book, especially considering it's price: more than $400 U.S.
However, if you can find a e version, it's not bad.

I read the chapter about photoreceiver design (ch. 14 by Mark Forbes) and was really disappointed. Considering the extremly high price you better spend your money on different textbooks about your favourite topics.
