I am not sure about cubieboard, after reading some of the posts on this forum I decided to check out the cubieboard site, it seems they still do not have an option for buying online directly from the company. It seems they are still working on it.

The specs may be superior but what about support and following from other users ?? I know raspberry has the best support, followed by the beagleboard.

I think this should be an important factor when considering such boards. Another factor availability of support documents, here beaglebone has the best support as it is the most open source product of all. In fact the beaglebone is the best option for commercial designs.

thanks

In fact the beaglebone is the best option for commercial designs.

Commercial designs dont contains developing tools inside, except final product of this developing platforms such as code and circuit for hardware.

Plus we have conflict with licence for redistribution of products. I dont think that resseling or redistribution is allowed without special approvements. What will be final cost of device if we in start have price of 89usd for example.

the tools inside the beaglebone can be removed, in fact it should be possible to add a custom linux based operating system. Also access to the system can be restricted by adding a password to the default SSH based login.

For terms of use see link...https://circuitco.com/support/index.php?title=BeagleBoneBlack

they do not restrict usage in commercial applications, but are not responsible for any damages or failures that may occur..

Does it matters if the board is manufatcured for partners, instead for the developer organization itself ?

I know raspberry has the best support, followed by the beagleboard

Raspberry is based on ARM11, becoming an options which brings a performance inferior for the ARM Cortex-A8.
Beagleboard have built in only 512MB RAM, compared to 1GB RAM from Cubieboard.
