Hi all,

I found el-cheapo programmer by Myke Predko quite easy to build, but I have some confusion regarding schematic. There it is all….

1. Is there a junction in the schematic encircled with red circle? That is between pin10, pin9 and pull up resistor(R7).
2. Can I replace 78L08 with a LM317 variable voltage regulator, adjusted to give 8volt output.

Thanks a lot.

I believe the answer is yes to both of your questions. It seems that the data needs a pullup and 78L05 has almost the same current characterisitc as LM317.

To make sure everything is OK, add a 22-100 uf cap to the output of the 317 and you will be OK.
