dependent sources in pspice

Hi.

I am simulating analog circuits using Orcad Capture Light 9.2, there are almost all the elements, including current and voltage sources....but i need to simulate circuits with dependent current and voltage sources but there are no dependent sources....does anyone have any idea where i can get them? or how to create them? maybe there is some place in the net where i could download such library?

pspice dependent sources

Hi

you can find dependent sources (current and voltage) in Analog Library
in the spice branch.

EPOLY & FPOLY in spice library (analog.lib)

dependent sources pspice

hmm... but that EPOLY and FPOLY have 4 outputs. But on the schematic current and voltage sources have only 2 outputs... for example, dependent current source is a diamond with 2 outputs...

so...?

pspice analog.lib

So, the only way a component can know the voltage or current somewhere else in the circuit, is to connect it there with wires. That's why there are two extra wires. They leave them off the schematics in textbooks to keep things simple.

I did a google search and found a nice tutorial from the Univ. of Portland that includes how to use a dependent source in Pspice. You can probably find others but if this link works, this is a good start:
