Hello,I have the following components called LM4040C41ILPR, it has 3 pins.
given the schematics below , how can know what each leg represents?
Thanks.

Hello Dana,two questions:
1.do you reccomend to keep pin 3 floating?
2.why the "anode" is the minus sign while the say that pin3 is ground?
What kind of diode is that?
where do i put the high voltage where the lower voltage potential(GND)?
Thanks.

READ THE DATASHEET!!!

Stop being willfully ignorant.

The title of the datasheet tells you exactly “what kind of diode it is”

YOU post the section of the datasheet that says ‘pin 3 must float’ and then you ask “do you recommend to keep pin 3 floating?”.

What is your problem?

Hello,So If I understand correctly I need to put the device as shown below.
I think that the series resistor will act as current limitor also.
from the datashet they say 15mA should flow threw it.
I dont have ltspice model.
given the datasheet formula below.
Vs=12V Vz=4V What is I_L and I_z?
I_z=15mA
(Vs-Vz)/Rs=(8V)/Rs=I_total
I am confused how can I find the proper Rs needed in this situation.
Thanks.
