JDM doesn't work with all RS232 ports, especially with laptops (if you can find a RS232 on a laptop !)

IC-proc has not been updated since 18 month. Impossible to program up-to-date PICs like 16F88 and so on. Bonny no more respond to Emails. IC-prog 1.05C has many bugs

No need to look further. The same version with transistors replaced by a single IC is posted by fragrance in the link above.

It works in JDM mode on the buggy version also, programmes EEPROM also, works 10/10 times.

So why this hunt for programmers all the time....its a pain man and confuses you and others.

Try this variation.....and you will have to use ANY PROGRAMMER only once

Use the programmer only once, the first time, to program you PIC with a bootloader.

After that you will never need a programmer. Load the code through the bootloader. It is more convenient and fast.

If more people are interested, I will detail this procedure if required.

dont say that. many guys build 'original' JDM that cannot work because of bugs, bad sys configuration, PIC not in list, poor RS232 and so on
the now free picallw can be a solution with P16pro-like board

Does anyone have the schematics for the pic-mcp-usb found on the olimex site?

here is a schematic that compatible to the PIC-MCP-USB on the olimex site...PIC-MCP-USB is power by USB,but the circuit i attach here need a 16-18V adaptor power supply,so if u want the programmer to work like PIC-MCP-USB, then u need to modify the power supply circuit,use a voltage amplifier chip that can amplifier +5V from USB to 18V 100mA as in PIC-MCP-USB.

thanks there. acttually i've been searching for the circuits like more than 10hrs, n im gettin tired. i've been to the kitsrus site but i don quite like the circuits thou. anyway, thanks.it was nice of u. i did get myself the software for microcode as well as the picbasic pro comp.thats y im prefering epic plus programmer. but..as u know. i cant find the circuits. haha. thanks again.

ICprog is good programmer .it works good with several hardware.
the simplest hardware is jdm programmer.
its shematic and icprog and microcodestudio is in the zip file.microcode studio is a basic programmer that need simple commands and convert basic ptograms to hex and C.also i place a simulator for u to enjoy.
