you need to used MPLAB driver switcher.because MPLAB 8 and MPLAB X are different versions and different plateforms.

how to set configuration bits in terms of oscilators?

if i am using crystal of 4/8/12 MHz. what i should mention
in configuration bit.
weather XT/HS.


if i am usign crystal and mention in configuration as LP then what will be affect on
on current and speed.

got the solution myself for configuration bits
i was trying as written in manual of x8 compiler that as follows
__config(xt)
after trying lot
i just put semicolon in front of this it works.
manual never give semicolon
is it right?

there is am option for creating configuration bits in a menu. It will automatically generates the code for you. Sometime the ide may be say a wrong code. But it'll work fine
