The code snippet that you posted should work normally. Only "unknowh" is the period of incrementing your count.
I do not use MikroE C, but, try to make a longer delay after

lcd_init();

say, 200 ms

Makes no difference.

Make delay longer to wait for LCD to initialize.

One thing more , this set up is used for solar charge controller , so there is large current 50A plus .... Do you think this is may be due to field created by high current ? If yes than how can i compensate?
