I am currently pursuing bachelor's in electronics engineering. Can someone suggest a good laptop for running cadence tools (ic design mostly) remotely. Should i buy a used mobile workstation or is a normal laptop enough

LapTop with I5 or I7, 8 GB RAM. That will do the trick. SSD a big plus in terms of
boot time and in general software execution.

At least 1 USB 3.0 port. HDMI output possible plus.

Higher resolution display always welcome.

Regards, Dana.

Cadence tools can resource-intensive, especially for IC design. Look for a laptop with a strong CPU (preferably Intel i7 or AMD Ryzen 7) and at least 16 GB of RAM. More RAM will help with multitasking and handling larger designs.
