How to make (build) ATS (Automatic Transfer Switch) ?

Here you find attached a diagram using 12V relays and step-down transformers. In practice there are many important details/timings related to the generator start / stop particular procedures to fix in order to get a fully functional circuit. ;-)

Frankly, I don’t know. :-D
There are many possibilities to build such a project, you can use the high quality components on the market (!!) and the price will go high, or just using some second hand parts and obtaining a lower costs.
Just in case we may start preparing a shopping list:
2 24V/16A-25A Main contactors
3 230Vac/24Vac transformers
4 1 amp rectifier bridge
1 24V relay
1 temp relay
1 DPDT switch
12 terminals block
1 box
Some capacitors/resistors/fuses (fuses= very important details missing on the above diagram :roll: )

Labor work is also very difficult to estimate, usually such a DIY project will be for free (if you have enough time to spend for), or you may end up paying someone for a full day of work.

so , what about the fuses ? As they're missing in the above provided diagram ..... so where to put them & of what capacity ?

Have anyone of you tried to make this circuit, please inform about its senstivity and maximum load it can withstand? Also is this circuit safe to be made as my personal project for my home generator

ATS for higher capacity use contactor(35A-1600A ).Single phase use two contactors and one timer relay.Connect the generator contactor so that the switch on/off will depend on mains contactor.
