Welcome to HFSS group...
People are willing to learn HFSS and finding hard to start. Easy way of catching basics is, help guide provided by ANSOFT itself.
It will be better to start with the tutorial called "A Waveguide T-Junction".

This Getting Started guide is written for HFSS beginners as well as experienced users who are using HFSS for the first time. This guide will lead you step-by-step through creating, solving, and analyzing the results of a T-shaped waveguide with an inductive septum. This type of structure is used to split an incoming microwave signal into two outgoing signals. The waveguide’s transmission and reflection of the signal will depend on the position of the septum.

It can be found in location of your installed directory "c:\Program Files\Ansoft\HFSS12\Help\TeeGSG.pdf" (if your default installation is on C: drive)

other examples provided by ANSOFT can be found same location (c:\Program Files\Ansoft\HFSS12\Help\)

• Optimizing a Waveguide T-Junction Using HFSS and Optimetrics

• A Dielectric Resonator Antenna

• A 20 Ghz Waveguide Combiner

• Floquet Ports

• RCS

If you are having nice things about HFSS, please feel free to share here...

Happy simulation in HFSS :)

Have a nice day!!!
