I have these two frequencies fed to the input of the PLL and need to vary the B.W according to the frequency. But before that, how do I differentiate between these two frequencies?

differentiate with filters tuned to 24 and 40mhz.
the o/p of the filters can be used to control the BW of PLL.

Hi,

I'm not sure what you mean...

In my eyes I think you need a MUX (CMOS switch) to select between the two frequency sources.

I don't think you need to adjust pll phase detector feedback signal, but if you want to do so it is also possible with CMOS switches.
