From my point of view, it is no more possible to make a clear distinction between a digital designer and an analog designer.
For example, analog circuit make more and more use of digital calibration and error correction. To find the good algorithm you need to understand the analog non idealities, and to make an efficient circuit, the digital knowledge is necessary.
As for "purely" digital circuit, well.... Can we really consider it possible to call digital a 1GHz signal? For me it looks very much like an analog signal....
I think from there there will be an unified approach, and we need to to up-to-down design working by blocks.
So it might mean that those block will also have MEMS or bio parts.... Who knows?
Anyhow the next years looks quite challenging for us, don't you think?
