AT89C2051 frequency counter

Programmer works 100% based on circuit what I post, and with BASCOM-8051 together.

You didnt answer, what software did you use?

Post sharpen photo of programmer from both sides.



What error you get, what happen exactly ?

What voltages did you use for 12V and 5V ? Did you check with measuring this voltages ?

Did you check and properly make Gnd connection ?


Read again post #14 and do exactly as described. Use exactly described programming steps for BASCOM-8051 what I give you in post #14. I try this with BASCOM-8051 ver 2.0.14.0 I supose BlowIt will work also with newer versions.

Programmer can program both DIP and SMD versions of 89C2051 without problems.


BlowIt.exe is written for DOS and py2051 software is writen for WinNT and Win2K and cant be used under WinXP (can but under emulators such as DOSBox and VMware Workstation, I try also that with success, but why to use emulators :wink:). py2051 can be run under WinNT and Win2K with installing DLPortIO driver over InstallDriver.exe, but this is .... to old. :-? Use BASCOM-8051 on described way.

oke . tonight i will make again the programer and i will try again. I don`t have errors but i don`t think the uc is programed , because when i put the uc in the board with lcd(frequency counter) doesn`t work.

If some problem show up on road, tell us.

One big lack of this programmer is that he dont have read capabilities to verify written code in µC, but is simple fast, and reliable, if you follow instruction there is no problems at all. I use it lots of times, even for SMD, no matter what I have other 89S programmer.

use it without cable. Make it on small PCB with directly soldered LPT connector.

Just follow instructions from post #14.

In ISP programmers, it is sometime advised that the serial connector casing and the uC should share the same ground. Don't know why....

This is not ISP and goes over LPT. 89C2051 dont have ISP capabilities, but 89S2051 have. 89S2051 have small production, and this µC cannot be found easely in every shop, but 89C2051 can be found even under bad. :smile:

Is this uC 89C2051 new or you use it earlier in some protoboard or other device ?

Dont give up that easely, electronics requires patience.

Do you have some option to buy new from some electronic shop? 89C2051 is cheaper then one ice cream. I think that this is not problem which will stop one Vlad.

yes, but in my city i don`t have shop to buy uc`s only some rezistor and capacitor`s. I need to buy online. But I put this on stanby until i buy a new uc, and i have an atmega8 smd i search a project like this with counter. I need fast a frequency counter. If you know something, put here.
 

the hex from that can somebody make to show me a start up mesaje? i thinks they give the souorce code. I don`t know how i can compile a source code
