Another lm317 Power Supply

So Peter i can't thank you enough, what modifications do you suggest for the above circuit? or do you suggest another designs? (no SMPS please is noisy as hell and also the components is hard to come by).

I will start from needs and expectations:

What is maximum needed output voltage?
What is maximum needed current?
.
.
.

You can also use iron transformer and switcher voltage regulator. Switcher voltage regulator dont means usage of small ferrite transformers on higher frequnecies.

SMPS can be good and without noise of course. In addition to good SMPS design, some tricks with silicon-glue are needed. :)

I have two 24-0-24 transformer, what i am planning to do is to use separate bridge for each transformer. When i need low voltages 0~30VDC i can connect the 24VAC winding to the bridges, and when i need higher voltages 30~60VDC then i connect the 48VAC. How about that? I guess it will help in reducing the power wasted as heat.
