Adjusting MATLAB precision

Hi all,

I want to carry out fixed-point simulation for a comm. system, but I don't know how to reduce MATLAB's precision when you're not using Simulink, any suggestions ??

I think you can do some changes from the "Preferences" available in the File menu.
