Memory, low power, ADC and DAC of great size
Maybe also designing new models for nanoscale technology

I quite agree renwl's viewpoint the topic which has relation with telecomunication chips will be hot,by the way UniqueICs seems to be a quite beautiful russian beauty.

my lab brother said the analog design will fall into three parts:

AD/DA
RF
Power management

I think it's reasonable.

I think some new area such as biomedicine chip will be hot. Communication such as transceiver, CT sigma delta ADC and so on. The high accurancy and high speed AD/DA will always be extended. Low voltage and low power circuits' research and PM are hotspot too.

Low power and RF both are quite a HIT !!!!

I think power managerment and ADC

how about bio-medical applications? low power designs for usage in this medical industry.

Analog hot topics - RF design, Analog design by (New) gm/Id topology,Mixed signal design.

fractional synthesizers and RFID are all hot.

Beside ADC/DAC/PLLs i think stable Voltage reference/Reference generator

How about current mode analog design, especially in the high frequency applications?
