xilinx spartan 2 memory blocks

does anyone experienced to use sparan 2 block memory?

i tried to use it but i think i need a pre-desined sample to learn how to initialize

these memories to a specific state.
 

I don't think Spartan is having a different way to instantiate BlockRAMs. You can use the INIT xx attribute. Refer to the BlockRAM datasheet for specifying initial contents of a memory in .coe file, you want to use. There is some Initialization_radix & initialization_vector parameters, if i remember correctly. You can load this Init file while generating Memory form coregen. You can go thru this:

use CORE GEN, tools/memory editor
You can initial BLOCKRAM as you want.
