can someone suggest a video editor that will run on Ubuntu Linus 10.10?

I'm running a 32bit version of Ubuntu so the PiTiVi that is distrubuted with it doesn't work(don't know what it was included)

I downloaded Kdenlive 0.7.8, it has a problem of regularly crashing when scrolling over the clip history panel.
And my big problem of not being able to erase the front of a clip. I can trim the back of a clip, but kdenlive can't delete and move up a clip from the middle. to make a video without leader film footage.

Thanks for help

Well have youtried Cinelerra??

Cinelerra seemed a bit intimidating to me (novice in video editing). Very powerful and serious.
I'll second OpenShot. It was much easier for me and for the simple editing I was up to.

There is also LIVES, but I haven't really done anything with it

i've decided to try OpenShot, my next project is to splice together pics and video clips from my club's near space balloon launch

thanks
