Working Principle of Functional Block Digram of LM2595

Hi, can someone help to explain the working principle of the functional block diagram of LM2595 ic, which is a type of step down regulator ic and the function of each components in LM2595?

I couldn't find any information i wanted from the internet, the internet mainly just explain application of LM2595.

Original National Semiconductor datasheet shows a slightly different block diagram.

I didn't came across a detailed explanation, you'll have to figure it out yourself with the help of switch mode regulator text books.

May I know if there's any recommendations for switch mode regulator text books?
