Hi everyone,
hope this is the right place to post this, I am no expert so please forgive mistakes and correct me.
I have a very old Windows Surface RT, I am trying to repurpose its display.
I already found a video explaining how i should do that, buying the appropriate controller board and so on, that should be no problem.
But what if i want to use the touch screen part as well?
As I understand, modern displays have one connector "handling" both the display and the touch screen part, it's just a matter of finding the right controller board.
However in the surface the two things are separate:
- the display provides a 30-pin connector (the one for the controller board I purchased)
- the touch screen has two connectors, which go into a board that was already there, that provides a 20-pin connector.
The 30- and 20-pin connectors are then merged together thanks to a cable, that brings everything to the motherboard, resulting in a 50-pin connector.
Any ideas on how to use the touch screen as well? Do i need an additional controller board or maybe a sort of adapter to convert the signal of this 20-pin connector?
Thanks in advance for the help!
