Windows drawing programs for schematics

hi,

i have always had a problem drawing circuits for reports. I have used Corel Draw, and Smart Draw, and xFIG. Smart draws library are ok but don't provide correct nMos and pMOS symbols. in corel draw i had to create symbols which was tedious, now they have magically disappeared from my computer.

i recently got Adobe illustrator 11. Does anybody have a circuit symbol library for version 11, or does any body now of a better software to create schematics for Windows.

There are so many programs that u can capture a schematic in windows platform, some of them:

1) Orcad (Schematic + PCB Layout).
2) Protel (Schematic + PCB Layout).
3) Circuit maker.

if you don't use schematic programs like orcad, you can use free software from linear:

Illustrator and Corel - I'm guessing that he wants to create snazzy schematics like we see in glossy advertising and press releases, rather than purely functional schematics from a CAD program.

you may use laker-AMS or tanner tools, composer is also good choice

I use Visio for drawing schematics. And I create the Pmos,nmos symbol in the library and save .Next time when using Visio, they are still in the library.
You can try it.

I guess the fastest way is to do a screen capture and invert the colour (to get rid of black background) on whatever simulation tool that you are using, eg Cadence.

Though the transstors are a bit ugly, but still readable.

drawing circuits

I use ExpressPCB simple illustration purposes. It's free, but the schematics are monchrome. Schematics drawn in OrCAD and Protel look better, but they take longer to set up before you can start drawing.
Visio is great for block diagrams and simple schematics with discrete components.

I normally use OrCad to draw it, and then copy paste it to the report. It looks nice and neat (that is, if there's ample of time to draw it). A faster way to do it is probably what sengyee88 has suggested... to make it look much nicer after inverting the colours, there's always adobe photoshop where you can replace the colours.

i also did had great troubles with drawing. well why dont u use pspice programs or workbench. pspice is better i suggest because it's used in most the places. i think in many university we pspice design as subject of engineering course.....

I think probably as mentioned above lik smartdraw or visio will do this job
better, but at smaller level, I think electronics sw will excel better
