Dear Friends
I wish you are all in very good health ...... I am very happy to join this group and here is my first post

I have a problem and i wish you could help me solving it .........

I have 2 sites and i need to connect them using WiMAX Backhaul, Here is the details:

===>I will use 1 BS at each site ... The Base Stations will work at PTP mode

===>The distance between the 2 sites is about 6 km

===>The 2 BS will have LOS

===>Working frequancy 5.4 GHZ

I need to know the following:

===>The B.W. of Wimax Backhaul

===>The maxiumum distance between the two BS

===>Is their any mathematical formula the can help me calculate (B.W. , Distances ....)

I wish you could help me

Thanks in advance

Bye

1- The BW required for backhaul b/w two BS is depend on the traffic/data.

2- There is no limitation of maximum distance b/w two BS. for long distance u required VSAT instead of microwave/fiber optics.

3- yes there are few mathmatical calculations. Path loss tool is commonly used for microwave.

1: depends on the product, figure 20Mb-250Mb, but you’re going to pay dearly for the top-eng gear
2: see below
3: check out: **broken link removed** for free-space path loss and Fresnel zone computation.
