Hello,
will the maplin FH00A switch be ok for switching 10mA DC?.....its the coil current of a 12V relay

Yes, it would certainly be a better choice than the slide switch you were previously considering.

They have listed the following specs:

Much better ratings but the picture shows a completely different shape and actuation, are you sure it will be suitable for your application.
You still need to prevent that relay kicking back though. Even with a resistor in series with it you will get a spark at the contacts as they open.

The switches have high current silver contacts. Silver contacts rely on a high current and high voltage to cut through the silver oxide corrosion that forms on silver contacts.
But your low current of only 10mA will not cut through the silver oxide.

You need gold plated contacts that do not corrode and will switch low levels very well.
Since the gold plating is thin it does not cost more than silver contacts.
 

Don't forget free wheel diode when switching a inductive load...
