Wide, flat enamelled copper wire needed.

Hello,
We need a few turns spread right across the bobbin breadth. Litz wound enamelled copper wires with circular cross section take up too much bobbin depth. Therefore, we need "flat wire". Does such a thing exist off the shelf? We cant find any.

We can solve the problem by winding multiple circular cross section strands alongside each other for our few prototypes, but the winders refuse to manufacture it like this, because they say their winding machines can't do it.
 

you can get rectangular section litz wire that is flatter than equiv round section... how about smaller litz (round) wires in parallel, 2, 3 or 4 in hand...
 

Copper strip with mylar tape sandwiched in between might effectively get what you want. Not sure how automated assembly handles large, high current windings.
