PIC usb IR-receiver

Greetings,
this is my first post here on edaboard. As it seems, this portal is very advanced, I think, you guys will know, how to help me.
I made this IR receiver on my protoboard to test it. I made small modification. I used PIC18F4550 instead of PIC18F2550. I used same .hex file, that has been posted on that website. When I connected this receiver, windows 7 detected new unknown USB device. I pointed him to driver, that has been also posted in project archive, but I got this error.
**broken link removed**.
Yes, I am using x64-based system, but this driver should work on x64-based system as well. So, where should I look for problem? I double checked every connection, everything is ok. I programmed PIC error-free. Did I make mistake, that I used PIC4550 with the same .hex for PIC18F2550?
Can someone please look at the **broken link removed** and tell me, what have I forgotten?
Thank all of you for help in advance!

Re: Why windows 7 not detected my PIC18F4550 usb IR-receiver

We ran into the same problem under Windows 7 with a USB-serial device that is also based on PIC18F4550.
Did you manage to resolve the problem in the meantime?

We got one hint that we have not tried, yet: update your Windows 7 installation through the update center and it will get working.

I beleive, that this will not solve problem of mine. I have automatic updates on windows every day. So..I could give it a try, but I don't beleive, that will make any difference.

I also facing the same problem did you solve the problem
