Why we use coupled inductor in any electronics circuit like capacitor stores charge etc
i mean i know what is an inductor and its behavior but why we use coupled inductor ?

A coupled inductor is a transformer. It is used for converting power from one impedance to another or one voltage to another.

yeah it is just like a transformer but what is its role when there are equal no of turns on both sides, here i am uploading the picture of the circuit this is actually from a paper known as "a novel bidirectional dc to dc converter with battery protection"

since there are equal no of turns of primary and secondary winding what is the role of coupled inductor in this circuit?
