what ?

i didn't ask about the generator . I asked about the Drive (inverter) . you misunderstood the question i think

Why the drive (inverter) is generating 24Vdc at its terminal strip ?
To allow control without external 24V supply, by simple contact closure.
if its not generating then what might be the problem inside the drive ?
Defect or any other possible cause that should be discussed in the manual. Or missing jumper between SC and SP terminal.

there wasn't any jumper between SC & SC terminal because there are 6 same brands & same model drives of different capacities are there . And none of them have any jumper between Sc & Sp .

Because there are no errors displayed so you think it would have been discussed in the manual ?

Don't you think its the problem of bad PG card ?

its a 3 phase AC Drive whose input is 3 phase 380Vac & output is from 0 to 440 Vac

Then I wonder what you are asking for. It's clear from the posted schematics that the jumper must be connected to use the internal 24 V source.

yeah you're right there isn't any jumper but both SC & S1 are connected with a 14 pin relay contact whose coil voltage is 220 Vac which is coming from the PLC output. When there is coil voltage on the relay from the PLC output then SC & S1 get connected with each other

the S1 is connected at pin no. 10 & SC is connected at pin no. 6

the coil voltage is at pin no 13 & 14 which is 220 Vac from the PLC output

Contact closure between SC to S1 doesn't work.

The contact should be connected according to the "internal power supply" scheme in table 2-13, either sinking or sourcing mode. I would prefer the latter: Contact closure between S1 and SP, jumper between SC and SN.

The source/sink switch is only relevant for electronic outputs (npn/pnp), for contact closures both positions can be used. In the sink (npn) position, SC is common ground.

when should we select npn & when should pnp configuration ?

For npn config : When i connect positive probe to SC & common probe to inverter's body (ground of the drive) the meter should read + 24 Vdc

For pnp config : When i connect positive probe to S1 & common probe to inverter's body (ground of the drive) the meter should read + 24 Vdc

Am i right ?

The posted documents don't tell about connection between internal 24V source and chassis ground.

"The posted documents don't tell about connection between internal 24V source and chassis ground."

when the drive should have +24Vdc across S1 & Sc ? when there is Run command or when there isn't a Run command ?

means when S1 & SC have 24Vdc across them then there would be contact closure & the Run command is activated .

Am i right ???

What & when is the need to apply external 24vdc supply ?

What if there is no voltage across / between SC & S1 ?
