why do people demand LED screen over LCD screen? How does LED dominate over LCD screen? I know the difference between them that LED uses LEDs and LCD uses fluorescent, but don't know why LED screen is better.

LED screens ARE LCD screens, it's only the backlight source that's different, at least until OLED takes over.

The major difference is size, LEDs are very low profile and can be distributed around the backlighting area in order to balance the brightness over the viewing area. Fluorescent tubes need higher voltage (usually an inverter per tube) and are larger. There is also an issue of dynamic brightness control, CFL brightness is relatively slow to react in comparison to LEDs and can only be achieved over the whole screen area. Because LEDs are quicker to change brightness the backlight level can be adjusted in time with the picture content to improve the contrast ratio. Finally, from a manufacturers point of view, LEDs can be fitted to a PCB but fluorescent tubes require special mountings so are more expensive and labor intensive to produce.

Yeah got that. But what is picture quality difference in LED and LCD? Is LED picture quality better than LCD?

At the moment there are VERY few real LED televisions on the market and they are very expensive. All the ones you see are LCD, as I explained it is only the backlight that is different on all current models so the picture quality is exactly the same. The only exception is that LED backlit models *may* give better contrast range because the fast reaction time of LEDs *may* be used by the manufacturer to dynamicaly reduce the backight on dark scenes to give a better contrast ratio. Not all models use dynamic backlighting and even with LEDs it isn't possible to selectively lighten or darken small areas of the image.

Picture quality aside, LED TVs tends to be more power efficient, smaller, lighter and probably less polluting than flourescent backlit models.
