Is it a clone? Have you recently upgraded the drivers or software?

Many of the serial numbers used by clones have been blacklisted by Segger.

Re: J-link can not be recognized ? why ?

First, download and install the software SAM_BA_2.12.exe
Download from here:http://www.atmel.com/tools/atmelsam-bain-systemprogrammer.aspx

Second, open your Jlink shell

1 ERASE jumper shorting
2 Connect the USB cable to the PC
3 Wait approximately 120 seconds
4 Disconnect the USB cable
5 Disconnect the ERASE jumper
6 TST jumper shorting
7 Connect the USB cable to the PC
8 Wait for approximately 120 seconds
9 Disconnect the USB cable
10 Disconnect the TST jumper
11 Connect the USB cable to the PC
12 search install the driver pointing SAM-BA installation folder, if it is XP system, there will be a atm6124.Sys ATMEL AT91xxxxx Test Board hardware, if it is Win7, there will be a GPS Camera Detect (COMx) Hardware
13 Open the SAM-BA, where there would be a connection, if it is 0, you need to check the above steps
14 Keep the default settings, select a Jlink firmware moment to
15 of Jlink.dll first covered with 4.40b MDK drive, and then automatically update

Re: J-link can not be recognized ? why ?

I am not trying to revive old post, I just wanted to post some additional info for future googlers on my successful experience with this procedure.

If you follow steps 1 - 11 and plug in the USB cable and still get a USB device not recognized message from windows, repeat again but try the erase steps 1-3 a few times then on step 8 wait only 10s. Atmel docs say that the tst pin need only be held high for 10s then you can disconnect and pull the jumper and plug straight back in. I did this on windows 8 and after it took, I simply plugged it in and windows did the normal looking for driver thing.

When you start the sam-ba tool, be sure to run it as administrator or else you will get weird error messages and it will crash.

Thats my $0.02
