why is flyback so much more power limited than boost?

We all know that Boost PFC stages are regularly done to 1KW plus.

The FET current and diode current waveforms for both boost converter, and a flyback , are essentially the same.

So why does everyone say that a flyback can only be done up to 150W?


Can we now debunk this as nothing more than a "myth"
 

Flybacks can and have been done to multi kilowatt levels, for high current outputs though you have to be clever in the design to make them work well, but above 500W most people chose a soft switched topology with no switching losses that can run at 130kHz say to keep the size and weight down.
