Why iMPact detect a xcv100 while actually it is a xc2s100 ??

why ?
I know that spartan2 is made on the base of virtex, however

In this condition , may xc2s100 work ?

Hi,

That has happenned to me in the past and the part was programmed, no problem at all.

I guess you can search X!linx Apps, there might be a fix for that... although in my experienced it worked fine so I wouldn't worry about that.

xilinx forgot to make new IDs for ICs in production :) spartan 2 is "son of" virtex 1 :) i think :)

Spartan2 is a cheap package low-speed version of Virtex. Also it misses thermodiod - that's all differences.
