Hi...

I have an doubt why the diode is connected across A and B of relay??? Whats the purpose of this?:-o:???:
Is there any reason to connect diode in such polarity? What specifications of diode is considered?
Hoping for guidance...
Thanks in advance:smile:

the diode is the Protective diode normally used across the coil . if you release the relay voltage , the magnetic field produces the reverse voltage which collapse with your circuit and may create the problem. so the diode should be connected across the relay. the Anode part of the diode should be in transistor side, and cathode part of the diode should be in coil voltage side as per the image.

you can use 1n4148. best recovery time and current.
