I tried to synthesize my design using DC on Redhat Linux, my DC installation is on another RH80 where I use NFSv3.0 to access from my local RH80.

It takes about more than 3 minutes after I type "dc_shell" or "design_analyzer" to see the DC prompt. Is it normal behavior???

I have tried both 2000.05-SP2 and 2003.06, the same problem with almost the same amount of waiting time.

I doubt if it should take that long to transter that excutable over NFS because I am using 100M Ethernet connection.

Did anybody have the same problem or experience, please shed some light on this.

100M Ethernet connection can give you 12.5M/s.
i think it's your host's problem!not network!

The licence manager takes ages to load the licence files in Linux, but it works dead fast on solaris. Maybe that is your problem?

It depend on your running mode.

Is your software running on your local machine or remote machine?
Do you use VPN?
Is your license server running localy?
How many people visit your NFS server?
