Which version of RHEL3.0 is suitable for EDA installation?

Is RHEL3.0 WS or AS more suitable for EDA tools (like IC5033, Hspice, LDV, DC ...)
May someone who has experience give us some comment or suggestion on that ?

RHEL3.0 AS is more suitable i have tried to do it well!

AS3 is very good for eda software. and synopsys develop eda soft at AS3, so it will work very welll.

Sorry , but if you have 2003.0x or 2004.0x old tools (like p and r tools) .. it will not work on it... ...

you need newer one ..

use the RHEL AS.. ive installed magma design automation on AS version.. it works fine.. works very well.. not a problem at all...so does synopsys tools..

What about RHEL 4.0, it has unknown __ctype_b, __ctype_toupper, __ctype_tolower problem.

Any idea to fix it?

on rhel4 i encount the same question
 

It's probably not a good idea to use RHEL4. Unless your vendor explicity says it's supported.
 

RHEL3 AS with Update 4, this is the based OS to the current EDA tools. I use AS3 U5. it works fine.
 

What about AS3 U6 ?
