Hi,
I have the option of using either a tcoil inductor or the symmetric parallel inductor. I am not sure which one to use for high frequency applications. I understand that the tcoil inductor has really high inductance, but it has several drawbacks. For instance, the unnecessary capacitance between conductor and the lead wire is introduced, when a wire is connect from the inside of the coil to the outside of the coil. Tcoil is also usually larger than other inductors in size even though they have the same number of turns.
So in the end I guess I am asking what are the pro's of using a symmetric parallel inductors over the tcoil inductor, or vice versa?
