Hi, I am a bit confused on where the source on a PIFA antenna is situated exactly!
I know, there is a feeding wire passing through the ground plate and end on the radiating plate. But If I want to simulate the fields in FDTD, where do I place my excitation pulse? Is it in between the ground plate and radiating plate, just where the feeding wire touches the radiating plate or just where the feeding wire touches the ground plate?

Thanking you in anticipation...

for simplicity, you place a pulse at the cell which your coax will be attached.

If you don't have the possibility to model coax source then put the source on the place where the wire touches the ground plate.

BTW what simulator are you using?

I'm using matlab, though I know it's relatively slow...
Thanks for the tips...
I'll try that!

So I suppose you programmed MoM code?
If you like, post your code here then - will be usefull for all EM fans!!

Good Luck!!
