Hi,

The Topic is the question , for example TQM8260 is a minimodule and has a starter kit of STK8260 , and the picture shows the minimodule in the at middle of the starterkit, at **broken link removed**

Is the starter kit a device to program the minimodule Flash and then we take the minimodule out and use it somewhere else?

Thanks with regards.

Hi arsadri,

The TQM8260 (and also other TQM8xx modules) are complete PowerPC computers with flash, sdram and so on. They are thought to use in your application. Often it's not desirable to design a complete uP board if you only need small amount. So it's easier (but more expensive) to create your own I/O-board and using such a minimodule.
This evaluation board can be used to write your software for example if your I/O board is not finished yet. But you're right, they also can be used to program flash contents of the minimodule, if your motherboard doesn't support it.
Hope this will help.

Bye
