BNC max current rating?

I have tried to find the maximum current rating for "normal" BNC connectors but can't find it. Does anyone know? If I could run max 9A it would be good but maybe fire...

This is definitely well beyond the rating. The "Jones" plugs with 4 cm wide blade contacts barely meet this 9 A rating.

Re: BNC max current rating?

There is a connector in the Farnell catalogue called BNC HT series which has a 10A rating. Also looks like a high voltage version, but the actual connector looks the same.
Thought the current could maybe be similar since it seems like the same connector pin diameter is used. Think I have seen somewhere that the current rating is quite high.

Forgot to say that I what I would like to do is to power a halogen lamp via a coax cable. Got lots from old network installations. Maybe only 60W, then its 5A on a 12V lamp?

MrEd,
In most cases BNC connectors are rating for 1A, in some 2A. There are connectors rated for 10A but when you read their specs you may discover that this rating is not for indefinite use, and in your instance a low voltage light will be probably close to the worst case scenario ... try some other connectors ...
