What's the function of T terminal in Li-Ion battery?

Hi,
I have a Li-ion battery(EN-EL5 Nikon coolpix camera battery) tha has 3 terminals named : '+', '-' and 'T'.
I dont know usage and function of 'T' terminal, any body can help me?
