OFDM vs. OFDMA
IEEE 802.16 will specify two flavors of OFDM systems: one simply identified as OFDM, the other OFDMA.
Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is a multi-carrier transmission technique that has
been recently recognized as an excellent method for high speed bi-directional wireless data
communication.
Orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) allows some sub-carriers to be assigned to
different users.
