I have a theoritical question
If in the magnituted-square response of a normalized lowpass butterworth IIR filter order N=3 i make the following change
ω^3=ω^3 - 0.75ω.
What type is the new filter
Thanks in advance:?::?::?:

Re: Butterworth filter

You will end up with a response that has no official name. That does not mean that it will not be suitable for your system purposes. I suggest that you make a magnitude and phase vs frequency plot and decide if it will suit your purposes.
