What value resistors are these?

These measure zero ohms, and i suspect they failed short.

The top ring looks blue on the photo, but on the bench it looks violet.
So its basically Violet Green Grey Gold Black

But that doesnt add up, as it would be 7.5E8 ohms which is 750 Megohms

So i am thinking it must really be meant to be violet green black gold violet


So i am thinking 7.5 ohms

Hi,

I think

violet = 7
green = 5
black = 0
--> total 750

Multiplier
gold = 0.1
--> total 750 x 0.1 = 75.0 Ohms

tolerance:
--> violet = 0.1%

Thanks, for some reason its measuring zero ohms. I desoldered it to measure it. It doesnt look damaged or burned.
It looks like an axial 2w...so i would be surprised if it was 0.1% tolerance

Hi,

you may cross check the ohmmeter with a good resistor in the expected range.

It´s not uncommon that 2W resistors are also 0.1% tolerated.

But for sure there is a chance that it´s a different ohm value or a different device.
Some inductors come in axial package with colored markings. (But I tend to say yours are resistors)

Thanks, how do you know they are fusible resistors?

In fact, the colors are actually Violet Green Grey Gold Black

So surely this means a 75e8 resistor of tolerance 5%?

Hi ,
Now found out, these are 0.075 Ohm, 5% resistors, 3W

I dont know how Violet-green-grey-gold-black gives 0.075R ?

(in the top post, the violet looks like blue, but i gaurantee its violet in "real life")
