Do i have to consider:- 1. The maximum input line 2. The maximum overcurrent expected. 3. The required maximum clamp voltage ? MOV Selection Assistance charts have all kinds of waveform shapes of incoming overvoltage transients....which one should i design for?

They come in ratings based on the nominal mains voltage. They protect against lightning strikes and motors turning off which produces transients.
