good day,i'm having a hard time finding the reason why it needs to synchronize BRUSHED DC motors in industries. i need a specific answer.please help me out..it's so frustrating and lastly, what do you think is the best possible reason why to synchronized BRUSHED DC motors..i hope someone can help.thanks a lot
There are a few applications where you need sychronized motor speed. But i don't know if this is focussed on DC motors.
* moving of a portal crane, where the crane moves on two rails with maybe 10m distance. Each side is driven by an individual motor
* a series of transport belts...
Brushed DC motors can be constant torque machines. So they are good for putting on a preset tension on a spooling drum. Whilst an AC motor would just wind at its synchronous speed. How about traction motors on electric trains, you want them to all to run at the same speed which is extremely variable or you will get wheel spin or one motor taking all the load (and burning out ) .
